Perception vs. Reality: Seeing with God’s Eyes
By Eldon Kibbey

In Numbers 13, 12 men scouted the Promised Land. Ten returned with fear; two returned with faith. Caleb said, “We should by all means go up… we will surely overcome it.” But the others replied, “We are not able.” Their perception became their reality—but it wasn’t God’s.

So many of our responses are driven by personal experience, not spiritual truth. A young employee once accused me based on what he would’ve done in my shoes—because his assumptions felt like fact.

This is the power of perspective: it can blind us, or it can build us. The Bible calls us to shift from worldly wisdom to Godly wisdom—a wisdom that is “peaceable, pure, full of mercy” (James 3:13-18).

The question isn’t just: Is your perception true?
It’s: Do you care if it’s not?

Let’s reject assumptions and seek clarity from God. Let His truth shape our response.
