“Listen to Me, O house of Jacob, And all the remnant of the house of Israel, You who have been borne by Me from birth And have been carried from the womb; Even to your old age I will be the same, And even to your graying years I will bear you! I have done it, and I will carry you; And I will bear you and I will deliver you.” Isaiah 46:3-4
I have been making my way through the Book of Isaiah, and have gained some new insights, this time, about God’s work in our lives, and His desire for personal relationship.
I found the quoted verses to be interesting! It certainly shows that God is aware of the life of a fetus in the womb, so He has known us from before the time we were born. In fact, Ephesians 1:4 tells us that He knew us before the foundation of the earth!
Now, that I am over 80 years old I have no problem calling myself an old man. It was gratifying to see that God hasn’t changed in my lifetime, even though my hair color has changed. It has been a joy to experience His support for over 50 years, after coming to Christ at the age of 26. Having been transformed by the renewing of my mind, Romans 12:2, I have been able to live the Abundant Life for the past 30 years. And, He will continue to walk with me to the end of my life on earth, and into eternity!
The Apostle Paul speaks of our purpose in Ephesians 1:11, and God has shown me that mine is to Lead others to experience the Abundant Life of Jesus Christ, particularly businessmen, particularly Hoosiers.
In Ephesians 1:18 we are told to pray that God would open the eyes of our hearts to show us the hope of His calling for our lives. What is that calling for you?
Ephesians 2:10 says that part of the reason God chose us, was because He has tasks He wants us to perform during our time on earth. What do you suppose those works are in your life?
God created the heavens and the earth, and He is in control of everything that occurs, including the weather. The droughts and the hurricanes are part of His plan, and they are designed to get our attention, so we will turn to Him, instead of thinking we can control things by ourselves.
