Encouragement
…and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near. Heb 10:24-25
We are to encourage one another and stimulate one another. The Greek word used here, for one another, denotes another of the same kind, which means we are talking about Christians relating to other Christians in a positive manner.
We are told to consider how to do that. One way is indicated in the passage, and that is to assemble together. Certainly, we should do that with our church friends, by worshiping together, and that is important in the spiritual growth of our families, as well as for ourselves.
But, what about our personal interactions with others in the marketplace? The pandemic developed isolation by forcing people to work from home, and many are still doing this, instead of engaging with others in the office.
When I had my business, I was active in my church, but most of my friends, there, were not business owners, so they did not understand many of the issues I was dealing with. I found stimulation and encouragement in gathering together on Friday mornings at a CBMC breakfast meeting. It was not only a mid-week spiritual pick-me-up, but it also gave me companions to meet for lunch when I had an issue to discuss.
Teams is one of the Core Values of CBMC, and we have a variety of options for assembling together as one anothers.
Connect3 Teams are open to anyone, without any membership requirements. Most of them are weekly and cater to men in a particular locale. Others are online, so they are open to anyone, anywhere. You can access the map and the meeting details on the CBMC Indiana website at https://indiana.cbmc.com/teams
Trusted Advisor Forums are membership Teams of 6-8 business owners or executives who meet on a monthly basis as a Christian board of advisors. Each member has an opportunity to share an issue with the others, so that they can share their own insights. If you would like to pursue this option, please schedule a meeting with Chris Haynes.
Young Professionals (YP) Teams consist of 6 – 10 young business and professional men in their 20’s and 30’s who meet once a month for one year.
YP provides a safe environment of encouragement, leadership training, mentoring, coaching, and camaraderie with other like-minded men. YP also offers an opportunity to learn practical lessons from seasoned business leaders and executives. Contact Gary Kirschman
