Men as Leaders: Restoring God’s Design

From the very beginning, God created men to lead. Genesis 1:26 tells us that He made man in His image to rule and steward creation with love and responsibility. But leadership faltered in the Garden of Eden. When Adam stood silently as Eve was deceived, he abandoned the role God had given him — and humanity has felt the consequences ever since.

Today, we still see the fallout. Fatherlessness is on the rise, families are fractured, and communities are weakened. In the U.S., 40% of households are led by single parents, and 80% of men in prison come from fatherless homes. The absence of godly leadership is leaving a void.

But leadership is not about domination — it’s about vision and influence. Jesus modeled this in the Great Commission: giving us the vision to impact the world and the influence to make disciples. And that begins right where we are — in our homes, neighborhoods, and workplaces.

Joshua 1:7 reminds us to be strong and courageous, walking faithfully in God’s Word. Every man has the opportunity to reclaim leadership by seeking God daily, setting vision for his family, and influencing others with Christlike character.

Culture can change — one household at a time. The question is: will we step up to the call?
